Theory: lecture videos, lecture-questions, and discussion (Q&A) sessions

Theory part of the course consists of watching lecture videos, answering to the related lecture-questions, and discusssion (Q&A) sessions.

Lecture videos for independent study of topics

Getting to know the week’s topics starts by watching short focus videos followed by simple lecture-questions. These highlight the key learning goals. Video watching grants points that are updated in Plussa at longer intervals. See below for the links of the videos.

Weekly lecture-questions

Each week, there are weekly lecture-questions. These weekly lecture-questions must be done during that week when they are assigned. For example, week 1 exercises must be done before Sunday (23.59) of week 1. The weekly lecture-questions start on the first course week. The correct answers to the weekly lecture-questions will not be published.

Discussion sessions (Q&A sessions)

Discussion sessions (Q&A sessions) are given by the course lecturers. Discussion sessions are organized in periods I and II, and they start in the first course week.

In the discussion session, it is assumed that the previous week’s self-study lecture videos have been watched, and you have answered the lecture-questions after the video. The lessons learned will be deepened at the event through discussion, questions and small tasks. Students’ questions on lecture videos will have an effect on selected topics for discussion sessions.

You will get points for participating in the Q&A sessions. You don’t need to register in advance, since you will register your participation during the discussion session via QR code and Plussa. Registrations are checked, and you should register your attendance only if you are present. The discussion sessions will not be recorded.
