Virtual Desktop: TUNI Virtual Desktop¶
All software needed to take the course is available on the TUNI Virtual Desktop. The desktop may be useful, for example, if you do not or can not install the required software on your own computer.
The TUNI Virtual Desktop is used as follows:
Download and install the Remote Desktop application.
When the application is installed, open it and select Workspaces->Add Workspace (WIN) or Connections->Add Workspace (Mac).
Mac users: subscribe to the content with your TUNI email address
Sign in with your TUNI account
The applications and virtual desktops that are available to your account will be shown. Connect to https://rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com by clicking.
The virtual desktop W10 TAU can be connected to by clicking its icon. Use your TUNI email address and password to log in.
The following tools are available on the desktop:
PyCharm and Python3
NetBeans and Java 17
VScode with Python, C++ and Java usable
Git
PowerShell
NetBeans
As with a local NetBeans installation, you need to activate the Java SE plugin (Tools | Plugins | Installed) to create Java projecs with NetBeans at the TUNI Virtual Desktop.
