Electronic exam¶

The course exam will conducted electronically using the university’s e-exam system EXAM. The exam lasts for 115 minutes, and it’s graded as 1/pass(0)/fail. Passing the exam is required for being able to pass the course.

You can find instructions on using the system here. These instructions are not copied below, so make sure to visit the page and read those instructions first!

Exam windows for this course¶

The e-exam for this course will be available during three separate periods of time, each lasting several days. One of these periods will be called a ’window’. During each window a student may attempt the e-exam at most once. The first window will occur towards the end of 2023, the second shortly after the start of 2024 and third sometime later.

Enrolling to an exam¶

Enrolling to an exam is done using the EXAM system. Proceed like this:

Open link https://exam.tuni.fi and log in using your intranet account.
Open second link https://exam.tuni.fi/#/enroll/COMP.CS.300, which shows you the exams for the course (or search for the exam using EXAM’s search function).
Choose your exam and enroll to it (you’ll have to choose the time and place).
Make a note of the registration information, especially the name/number of the PC you’ll have to use to do the exam!

When planning the exam date, be aware that there are many students taking electronic exams. So enroll as early as possible, since best times will be reserved first. If you enroll at the last minute, it’s probable that you’ll be offered only less inviting exam times, and it’s even possible that all exam rooms are full.
